The Jewish people, the Maccabee’s, liberated the Temple and rededicated it to God, and when one of the priests went to light the Menorah during the rededication ceremony there was only enough Holy oil to burn for one day. However, supernaturally, the oil burned for eight days. King Jesus has liberated us from sin and has made it possible for our bodies to become the living temple of the Most High God, our Abba. During this season is when King Jesus verbally proclaimed Who He is, The Messiah, Christ, in John 10:22-30 – ‘And it was at Jerusalem the Feast of the Dedication (Hanukkah), and it was winter. And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch. Then came the Jews round about Him, and said unto Him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. Jesus answered them, I told you, ye believed not: the works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me. But ye believe not, because ye are not of My sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My Hand. My father, which gave them Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My Father’s Hand. I and My Father are One.’ During this season, the servant candle, the ninth candle, lights all others: Jesus is the Light of the world and as our reigning King, the Greatest Servant of all, He reminds us of the importance of a servant’s heart, ‘Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.’ (Philippians 2:5-11) God doesn’t love us because we have accepted King Jesus as our Savior, but has always loved us. And because of His passionate love for us, He created us, and during this same season, the Feast of Dedication and Festival of Lights, allowed Himself to be clothed with humanity by being born of a virgin. Goodwill and peace has come to us, it is the mystery of the Gospel, ‘Christ within us,’ and in conquering all things of the flesh He is able to intimately manifest John 14:23 within us: ‘Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love Me, he will keep My Words: and my Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make Our abode with him!’ Wholeness, wellness and completeness is found only in King Jesus, Praise King Jesus! Happy Hanukkah – May His Light continuously shine in you and through you and may it be a very blessed start and continuation to the Merry Christmas season, Praise King Jesus!
