Tonight at sundown, Yom T’rooah (Feast of Trumpets) will begin. It is the first of the fall High Holy Days. It is celebrated by shofars being blown, announcing the Glory of God, and it is a tradition among the Jewish people. It is associated with seeking forgiveness from God in preparing for the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) in which the High Priest enters the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle, or Temple, with the sacrificial blood and approaches the Lord on behalf of the people for the forgiveness of their sins, which was fulfilled after Jesus died on the cross and went to heaven pouring His blood on the Altar in Heaven, as the ultimate Sacrificial Lamb of God. The Day of Atonement will begin this year at sundown on October 11th. Jesus was born from the lineage of King David and we, as believers in Jesus Christ (Messiah Yeshua), were grafted into the vine and have become one new man~Jew and Gentile one in Messiah. So as believers and followers of Christ may we celebrate this day by repenting, praising Him for forgiving us, and then rejoice as we greatly anticipate Jesus’ return! This High Holy Day is a very real reminder to us to always look to Jesus as we wait for Him to return. As stated in 1 Corinthians 15:52, 1 Thessalonians 4:16, & Revelation 11:15, Yeshua, Jesus, is coming back with the blowing of the heavenly shofar. L’Shanah Tovah~Happy New Year. And may you find that your new year flourishes because your relationship with Jesus is deepening. You are rooted and grounded in Jesus, and rejoice, your Savior lives!
