The fall Holy Days continue~tonight, at sundown, the Day of Atonement begins and continues on through tomorrow. Messianic Rabbi Kirk Schneider of Discovering the Jewish Jesus further explains: “Once a year the High Priest entered the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle, or Temple, and approached the Lord on behalf of the sins of the people. The High Priest took the blood of the sacrifice into the Holy of Holies for the atonement of both his own sin and for the sins of the nation of Israel. The Lord told us in Leviticus 17:11 ‘The life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls.’ Yeshua, Jesus, has become our final sacrifice and by His blood His people are forgiven of all sins forever, Hebrews 8-10.”
Amen! This is a Holy Day that we, as believers in Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, can greatly rejoice because atoning means to do something right in order to make up for something done wrong, and only through Jesus can we be “righteous” right standing before God! He conquered all things not of God, and allowed Himself to become our Sacrificial Lamb so that our relationship with our loving, Abba, Heavenly Father, can be healed. Praise Jesus for His precious, powerful, cleansing flow that fully cleanses us as we go to Him for repentance. Moment by moment living in Jesus, while our Holy Spirit intently molds us to become more aware of Him than anything else!
