According to Rabbi Schneider of the Discovering the Jewish Jesus, regarding the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot), which began last Sunday evening, October 16 at sundown and ends today, “This is the last of the Fall Feast and is filled with joy and praise for the Lord’s provision (Leviticus 23:34). Jewish people construct a sukkah during this feast. A sukkah is a temporary booth made of natural materials. The ceiling is not solid, so the sky can always be seen. This serves as a reminder that Yahweh (God) is all we truly have in this life and that He will always provide for our needs. We should live our lives the way the Israelites did in the desert; totally dependent on God.”
Another beautiful reminder to put our priorities in order~ God, our El Shaddai, our Creator, is always first! Only He knows what we need, and only He can completely provide for us. The greatest praise and thankfulness we could ever show our Abba, is to actively choose to embrace Jesus throughout each moment. And as we do that we are actively being coated in the Sacrificial Blood of the Lamb and the Holy Spirit can then position us, mold us, and instruct us on how to receive our Abba’s provision. Praise Jesus!
