According to Rabbi Schneider of the Discovering the Jewish Jesus, regarding the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot), which began last night at sundown, “This is the last of the Fall Feast and is filled with joy and praise for the Lord’s provision (Leviticus 23:34). Jewish people construct a sukkah during this feast. A sukkah is a temporary booth made of natural materials. The ceiling is not solid, so the sky can always be seen. This serves as a reminder that Yahweh (God) is all we truly have in this life and that He will always provide for our needs. We should live our lives the way the Israelites did in the desert; totally dependent on God.” Another beautiful reminder to put our priorities in order…God being first! He is our ultimate provider and He has given us above and beyond all that we could ever need, may you find that the closer your relationship with Jesus becomes, the more dependent you find yourself being on God. Complete dependency on God, in all aspects of your life, is the only way to maturely live victoriously in this world.
